Anyone can write a book! Have you seen some that are out there..they sound like the author was drunk when they wrote it...I'm sure if you were to write one it couldn't possibly be as bad as some out there! Plus, you know we'd all at least buy it..so you'd make at least SOME profit! LOL

[quote:0389fc34cc="Teamtunafish"]Well I think I can understand why he isn't doing it - both stars are busy, among other things. I would have loved to see Rose's life story afterwards - that looked like it would have been fascinating.[/quote:0389fc34cc]

I agree Tuna...all those pictures she had at the end of the movie could only benefit from a little explanation. I also would love to know what happened with Cal and her mother , since they both survived... (I know Cal commits suicide when the stock market crashes, but it'd be nice to see what kind of a life he led up until then)

JB,
Yes, I would love to know what happened to Rose's mother and Cal life up to his suicide.

Seems like there is enough info for another movie?

Where is James Cameron<LOL>

Now, now, don't be mean...he's only a product of his times and his society.
Actually I can't think of a much more repressive time in our society than the late Victorian/Edwardian era--especially for women. Ugh!

Don't know why I just thought of it, but remember that book 'Maiden Voyage'? About a woman suffragate and a 13 year old boy on the Titanic.
The boy was in the typical adolescent throes of wanting to be treated like a man and not treated as a kid. The woman of course was all hung up on women's equality. There was a Cal like man in the story too--but he was a good guy--just conventional.
Anyway, when the ship went, we see the boy wanting to be a kid and get to get in a boat, and the woman using her gender too. The man stuck it out in his sociatal role.
Both the kid and the woman really saw what hypocites they and their 'causes' were and never got over it. Quite a reversal of the Cameron story, but good just the same. Not a very popular book though. Has many here read it?

I probably would have liked Cal better if he had been true to type (as I think someone like him would), stayed on the ship, and swum for it. That would have been in character. As it was, I found him unconvincing.

yes, I also think Cal was a product of his times and money!!! I wonder if he had found Rose, if he would have changed because of the sinking or been the same and made her pay for leaving him?

I wonder if he wanted her because he could not change her or was bound and determine he was going to change her no matter what?
