Well let me know if you are, because DC is only 2 hours too - maybe we could meet!
All I know about the auction is posted the second I get it in. If it's mail, I'll type it in, promise. |

teamtuna,
Did you say you were going to get more information on this auction? NYC is only 2 1/2 hrs from me. If I could get in and could make it that day, it would be something to see anyway even if I could not bid? Don't know if they would let nonbidders in<LOL> |

My guess is yes, this will be [i:2f84e72eb4]very[/i:2f84e72eb4] expensive, as this is the first major [i:2f84e72eb4]Titanic[/i:2f84e72eb4] aution in the States in the last 10 years. I would think probably bids starting at $500. For the small stuff, that is. (You should see the prices at the annual auction at the BTS! My GOD!!)

What do you think. Are the articles going to be so far out of reach we could not even attempt to bid on them? I mean price wise Betty[/quote:3fa1e680b4] It also might depend on what is going to be available for bidding. But I would say it would be expensive because it's from the Titanic. |

This is the text of the message I just recieved from the people running the auction:
Thank you for your inquiry about our exciting upcoming auction focusing on the Titanic and other historic ocean liners. Although scheduling details have not yet been finalized, we expect to hold this extraordinary auction in June of this year. Once the exact date and location are determined, we will be posting this information, along with further updates about the event, on our website. Guernsey302271s will be preparing a comprehensive auction catalogue, fully illustrating the remarkable collection of artifacts to be offered in this important sale. The catalogue should be available approximately one month prior to the auction, and information as to how to order the catalogue will included on the website as well. We look forward to sharing additional information about our Titanic auction with you, and thank you again for contacting us. I'll keep you updated. |
