If the ship hit the berg head on, it would have killed many of the crew, which had their quarters in the bow section.
It is possible that the ship could have survived a head on impact, that is, if there was no iceberg shelf underneath the ship to poke holes in compartments further back. Remember, Titanic actually was leaking in boiler room (4 I think) from the floorplates (not the side), as if her double bottom was pierced from ice at or just above the keel. So even though a head on collision would have stopped damage along the side of the lower hull, we might still have to worry about underneath the ship. |

It would of only sanked one compartment living the others empty. The ship would have never sanked and had to be towed away. I think it would of been fixed, inculding that it was the most luxurios ship in that time period and the biggest.

well no. if it was head on it would make a big dent and maybe shake up the ship giving whip lash to everyone.*lol* but since it had 10 compartments then no...even though it was going 70 miles per hour it wouldn't be that bad. after awhile if no one sued they would fix it up, sail, and be in a water mueseum by now as good as new.
Which makes me wonder... Why turn if they new they wouldn't make it...they would have known since they were to close. maybe the crew in the crows nest were suicidal...hmph... Very good question |

...the Titanic would have hit the iceberg head on? Would it have sank, or just been a major inconvinience? Please vote and discuss...
