actually there was enough boats it was just that the upper class ppl wanted more room as if they were better that everyone else but then again back then they did have a diff. way of life than today

Rose is correct there was not enough life boats the first life boats to be filled did go out half empty because the rich f****d about I guess that they thought that it would be safer and warmer to stay on board a large ship rather than go on in the middle off the atlantic in a small life raft.
Anyway dont be fighting none off us have all the answers theres many rumours and half truths flying about that its easy to get mixed up and confused.And remember young ones use this site so they might think they know the ins and outs but its up to ones who know better to inform them with facts.

Rose89 the name calling (idiot) is uncalled for. Don't act like you know everything about Titanic because I guarntee you, you don't. People learn everday new things about Titanic, people don't automatically get into Titanic and know everything and you don't help people's interest away by making them feel stupid if you say something such as that.

The reason there wasn't enough lifeboats for all aboard is because they didn't want the deck to be too cluttered. They didn't have enough boats on board however they could have gotten a lot more people on the boats. The Duff Gordons had 12 people on the boat!! So while more boats should have been on the ship, they also should have loaded more people on the boat..
