The passenger lists are available on-line FREE for one week at findmypast.com I browsed through the 1st class passenger manifest and didn't see Molly Brown or John Jacob Astor! What's up with that???

Hmm... that sounds a bit strange. Molly Brown and J.J. Astor was very famous passengers on Titanic. I don't know how those two persons can be "forgotten" on the passenger list. I don't think the website is that reliable.

Molly Brown would be listed as Mrs. J.J. Brown(women were often refered to by thier husbands names)there are many sites that offer access to the passenger list from titanic, and the sites are always free. My favorite is http://www.fortunecity.com/lavender/stroheim/163/passenger.htm
It is complete and J.J Astor is listed on there

Yeah that sounds strange if those two aren't on the list.

Hello,

The passenger list you viewed on findmypast is reliable. It is a scan of the actual document. The reason Margaret "Molly" Brown and J.J Astor were not listed is because they both boarded at Cherbourg, and the origional passenger list for those who boarded at Cherbourg has been lost, and so findmypast could not put it on their website. That is why you could only view those who boarded at Southampton and Queenstown
