I do agree. The Britannic was built with all of the safety mods that the Olympic had to have grafted on after being built. She was a fine ship who did her duty during WWI. It is sad that such a fine vessel was destroyed. I would think that diving to investigate her is relatively easy, also, she is in much better condition than Titanic.
In a way, all three ships met with ignominious ends. Titanic sunk in what is really a fluke accident. Olympic, after years of faithful service is scrapped. And Britannic is sunk by a mine during the war while serving as a hospital ship. Daniel |

It is to bad, but then, Titanics legend lies in its fate, not the ship. If anything, had Titanic not sunk, it be the least likely of the trio to be remembered. Wasnt the first, nor the largest/most luxurious (Britannic, planned to eclipse the luxury of Titanic). So, if anything, Titanic was the middle child, and we have all heard stories about how that works :/.
It would of been some ship had it made it to its maiden atlantic crossing, I have long held the belief that the cosmetic differences between her and Titanic/Olympic made it the most asthetically pleasing (imo). Martyn |
