I don't know who I would want to be, but I would like to have been on a helocopter roaming around the area trying to find out just how many other ships were in the area. Maybe see if the Sampson was really there or not.

I would definately want to be Mr. Andrews (even though I am a woman but that aside...) and not the movie Andrews but the real guy that night on the ship. He knew the greatness of the disaster before the passengers...he knew of the Titanic construction and held true to the ship until the very end...he went down with the others...unlike Ismay who fled. Andrews knew of things about the Titanic that we are still diving down and trying to discover. I wish I could have gotten into his mind that night.

On the night of the sinking, I would want to be one of the Carpathia passengers, sorting out clothes, blankets and medication etc as we raced to help the survivors of the Titanic.
I wonder how those aboard the Carpathia when they reached America, just how did their lives changed after that night. Will we ever find out I wonder...... |

No question, Lightoller. he went about his duties as was explained to him from the captain, "Women and Children First". Not only did he do his best to fulfill this duty (he only let one male passenger on during his loading of the boats), but he stayed aboard until the very end, when he what thrown into the water as Titanic started to make her final plunge. Even after, he organized those on the capsized B and still managed to save a couple dozen lives. The only thing I'd wonder though, is if he really knew the gravity of the situation?
