Saw that this morning. I've said it before....for all you want to talk about United and their international profile Casino, they really seem to do business the right way. I'm interested to see just how much Kenyon had to do with these results, so next year will be interesting.

i think the titanic sank because the people of the time were blind to the facts that human engineering was above the forces of nature they proved wrong we think we are so clever but we are no match for mother nature

I think the Titanic sank bcuz the Capt. was aware of the Icbergs and didn't turn the ship even tho it was considered "unsinkable" just bcuz the 1st 4 " :o watertight " compartments could be flooded and Titanic could still float.

Never did the White Star Line claim her as unsinkable. The press was the one who got ahold of that. And it wasn't the Captain's fault, many of the ice warnings never reached the bridge.

And actually, they DID turn the ship, but they didn't do it in time. Many people believe it would have been better off if they'd actually let it go straight ahead.

I've read that it'd been better off hitting straight on. It would have killed the people in their cabins in the front of the ship but it would have kept the ship afloat longer. I've read even long enough for it to reach New York..

yea, I've read the myself. In the long run, I suppose if they'd have done that it would've been better off than what actually did happen. Either way people were going to die that night. But I suppose keeping the majority alive would have been best. Too bad they panicked too much to think logically for a moment. But, it's expected in a situation like that.

Well back then the officers were taught to try to avoid any kind of collison, so Murdoch did what he knew and tried to avoid hitting the berg altogether but it just didn't make it.
