again, im not saying that they didnt switch the ships but if they did, who would go and measure the ships, just so they could see if they are different. plus nobody knew about it, so nobody would even care.

Hi! I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean to say that you are not saying they did switch the ships? I do think people would care about it, though, particularly after the sinking when it became common knowledge that 1,500 people drowned or froze to dead when the Titanic sank. Best regards, Mark. |

no, i wasnt clear. what i tried to say was that nobody cared or thought that the WLS could possibly switch the ships. so nobody would go and measure the ship's sizes.
im saying that i dont believe that they did switch them. but if they did nobody of that time would want to know or would care (at least not after she sank.) |

We'll have to disagree. After the sinking, I think even more people would have cared. Best regards, Mark. |

Hi!
In that case I still disagree. Even before the maiden voyage, anyone considering travelling would have been interested. Best regards, Mark. |

Hi! That suggestion makes the implicit assumption that the only differences between the two ships was their gross tonnage (or length, in which case it's wrong); if you look at Bruce Beveridge and Steve Hall's new book they have a mass of photos showing how different the two ships were -- that is, significantly more different than is commonly reported. It's my belief that they would care and would know. Best regards, Mark. |

I don't see what relevance that has - with regard to observations, anyone with a B-deck cabin would have known that they were on Olympic, if the ships had been swapped. Best, Mark. |
