Yes and steel was replaced not only there but also along the bow, so it was a very bad accident. Though she still managed to serve for another Quater of a century almost.

Perhaps if some company made a movie about her or explored here in the same fashion as titanic it would also become popular. Maybe some military hospital ship thin red line like of thing..

Actually, a made for tv movie was made, tho it was based on Brit, it focused on a fictional story about a german spy on board. Much like Titanic 1997, it had it's own romance story. See here:

Right I will go on record and say Titanic would have been scrapped. In the mid 30s the Americans had restricted immigrants, the industries turnover halved, ships of her size where not needed, she was prone to micro-cracking Olympic showed this after 24 years, just think how bad Titanic would be now after years or of we go by time of when she was built 94-95 years. New liners like Normandie and queen Mary and Elizabeth would trump her, and know one would go on her over the newer bigger more stylish liners. Rust would have already caused damage, now we can treat this, but by now the damage would have already been done. She would have to have survived ww1 and ww2, and you think the Germans would a not bomb her in the battle of Britain; she would need to serve the UK in both wars, her sister Britannic sank during WW1, Titanic may have also. For all these reasons and more I'll state, 'yes she would have been scrapped'.

I think that if the titanic were still around today, it would still be usable. if not usable, then i think that it would at least be a museum or something. I really doubt that it would be scrapped.

they would keep the titanic, because of all its fame. i mean even before it sank, it was the biggest ship of its time. And everyone was saying that it was the unsinkable ship. if it was still around today i think it would still be pretty famous.

Well thats not quite true, Olympic was the one that got all the fame and glory the year before Titanic came. She got all the press, and come Titanics launch when Olympic came back to belfast to be present for her twin sisters launch, there was some 100,000 people there but most where marveling over the Olympic. The unisinakbe phrase was said by capt smith about the Olympic not Titanic, however because They where twins (well 95%identicle) the thought the same of Titanic so because it sank that is why the term unsinkable came back to haunt us, and was blown out of context. Even when Titanic beat Olympic in weight which gave Titanic the title biggest ship, Olympic was still the flagship, still the main, and still the publics favourite, infact one reason why people where so upset that Titanic went down, was because the same may befall Olympic.
