I found the following article very interesting. http://www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/articles/morning-after_nielsen.pdf
The controdictions are amazing even seasoned veterans like Lightoller's testimony on page 10 was in direct controdiction to scores of other rescuers of other ships even hours later. And actual photos of the floating bodies bring to question the accuracy of Officer Lightoller's observations. I really believe that the survivior's accounts were absolutly effected from the tramia of the disaster. This spills over to other topics of great debate such as Charles Joughin's ordeal where I personally believe judgement of time and events were greatly effected. |

Altered Mental status is a known medical symptoms under hypothermia. However, it is has not been clinically trailed how severe and which aspects it affects of the mental perfomance.
It is known that in modern days a witness suffering from hypothermia the time he saw an incident could be discredited by that very fact. Blur speech is also an effect of hypothermia, motoric perfomance too. This means that the witness couldn't easily focus his head/eyes on the incident/scene. I got this after reading the hypthermia page you sent, thanks for your help. I am still wondered as to which functions specifically, and how badly they are affected by hypthermia that is crucial for a witness to have at the time of an incident, Hearing/ seeing and feeling are important factors i assume. |
