I found the following article very interesting. http://www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/articles/morning-after_nielsen.pdf
The controdictions are amazing even seasoned veterans like Lightoller's testimony on page 10 was in direct controdiction to scores of other rescuers of other ships even hours later. And actual photos of the floating bodies bring to question the accuracy of Officer Lightoller's observations. I really believe that the survivior's accounts were absolutly effected from the tramia of the disaster. This spills over to other topics of great debate such as Charles Joughin's ordeal where I personally believe judgement of time and events were greatly effected.

The bodies of the people that stayed in the ship and were trapped, have been disolved and eaten by fish. The ones with life belts that were pictured, would have either been picked up, or drifted off and eventually gone under, also to have been disolved and eaten.

It's called osmosis, the water goes from a high concentration to a low one, basically there corpses let in water after a while and they eventually sank into the sea. Its to do with when you have been in a bath for ages and your skin goes wrinkeled, that sort of thing.
