As Titanic was such a large ship, it was difficult to bring her into dock at Cherbourg. Nomadic (and her sister ship Traffic) were built as tenders, so Titanic (and any other large passenger vessel) could drop anchor offshore and Nomadic would ferry passengers to and from Cherbourg.
It is the last White Star vessel still afloat and is currently in Le Havre, but it will soon return to Belfast where it was built to be refurbished and be put on show. Strider_uk |
