So Tom
You are saying RMS Titanic does not send dives to the Titanic anymore? Or the courts are not allowing them or both? I can't remember who the President of the Company was--Mr. Geller. Is he still President? |

While searching online for a few Titanic items, I came across an article written by Mr. Tim MGlone of the Viginan Pilot in regards to RMS Titanic, Inc.
I emailed him this a.m. and this is his response to some questions I had in regard to the company. "I don't think there's anything to worry about any time soon. This thing will be tied up in courts for years. In the meantime, the company plans to continue exhibiting them. The court here, I am sure, will not allow those pieces to be destroyed or broken up or sold to anyone disreputable. I don't believe the company has plans to dissolve but they are in trouble financially. They believe they deserve compensation for all they put into raising the artifacts. How that will happen will be up to the court. Betty |

Betty, RMSTitanic is still legally sole salvor, and the rights to the site are still theirs. There has been a challenge to that because they have not had the funds to dive on the site for a while, and I know they are renting the rights to the deep-sea dive people. But, as you said, it's in the courts. In the meantime, there is no protection for the [i:a4ecf55f08]Titanic[/i:a4ecf55f08] herself, so God only knows what's going to happen down there.

Teamtuna,
So now do I have this right? RMS Titanic still is the so called owner of Titanic, but financially cannot dive on the wreck themselves, but gets paid for letting others dive on the site? Geez Betty |

They don't have the [i:7782d8d0b0]funds[/i:7782d8d0b0] to dive on the ship right now, seeing as they have to spend it all on legal stuff. Sorry if I was imprecise about that.

Thanks teamtuna
I get on the RMS Titanic, Inc. site every so often, but they never seem to have any new news. I found the bit of information from the Reporter just by chance surfing thorugh the internet. I will have to do more surfing and research on that company Betty |
