Does anyone know anything about Titanic's engine telegraphs?

I read a good article about them at www.marconigraph.com, but I still have a question.

Specifically, could they control seperate engine movements from one telegraph? For example: the starbord engine full ahead and the port engine full astern?

I know that the bridge had two main engine telegraphs, and that they are on both ends of the bridge. Each of those units has a side for port engine and the other for starbord.

Aparently, the main telegraphs were on opposite sides of the bridge for the convenience of having someone operate the engines from the side of the ship that the dock is going to be.

While watching the movie, I noticed that when Murdoch or Moody made a telegraph command and pulled a lever, the lever on the other side of the telegraph would move also, meaning the other engine had to go the same speed and direction.

So again, how would they reverse just one engine if they had too? Does it have to do with using one of the other telegraphs?
