The titanic could have avoided the ice bergs. There is another route that could have been taken to completly avoid the icebergs.
But the people chose Sceneary over Saftey.

was it you that already said that. now i get what you're saying. yes, they chose that, but wouldnt you? i mean, the ship was considered one of the safest in the world, people said even god couldnt sink it, and you would want to take the safer route? nothing like this had ever happened and nobody even considered it. how can you take precaution over something that you dont know its going to happen?

Well someone should have considered it right after the dummy openned his big mouth and said god couldn't sink it . anyone who knows anything about god should know sinking a ship woould be childs plat for him Gees he flooded the entire earth. rianed down fire and brimestone and changed the speech of people so they couln't understand each other when they were trying to built the tower of babel how hard would it be to put an iceburg in just the right spot to sink a ship.
The sink of the titanic was not so much sunk by the iceburg but by people who thought they were smarter than god but turn out to be very stupid.

dont get mad, it was just a saying to show how great the ship was. not that they meant it.

I dont think it was just a saying thou it has been hyped by the media but if you have a strong faith in god you have to consider how it looked to god. and i belief it would have been recieved as a challenge.Quote:

hey, if there is a god, he made us like that. he had to teach us a lesson anyway. so it just happened to be the titanic. again, we provoked. dont matter who, us or the faith or god ( ), we were responsible for it.

sorry if i offend you, but im an atheist and i get irritated just by the mention of god. this is a site about titanic. if we could keep it around that subject we'll be cool. (good, i sound like somebody old trying to be hip (there i go again.))

In relation to the 'God' reference, it seems very unclear now who started that. It was never the official position of the White Star Line that the ship was unsinkable much less that God couldn't sink it. Although they may have been guilty in their pride of not disputing the belief. The WSL held that the ship had all the most modern safety features rendering it 'virtually' unsinkable. The actual reference is suspected to have come from some person in advertising or even a news reporter not associated with WSL.

Part of the arguement against increasing lifeboat capacity was that launching small boats at sea is an inheriently risky operation and it was felt the water tight bulkheads would ensure the ship stayed afloat long enough for assistance to arrive in an emergency.
