well, im torn in between. im for taking the titanic out, but i know that this is impossible. although im against people taking stuff from it, because that's like digging into people's graves. i know that i am going against myself on these, but thats how i feel.

I think Titanic should be left alone. I feel that when you take artifacts, you are taking them from their proper place in history.

I think photographing them is ok, and digging them up is ok also. But i think a government should do it; not a private company
A government museam that want's to attract visitors and does not charge too much to see the items like say 1-2 bucks per person, and perhaps free for schools. It doesn't all have to be a spectacular presentation, just so that the microbes don't eat all the souveniers away. Now, you see, the private company is fighting for rights they will hardly get, the courts decide against them one day and on their side the other day, their owner is tired. They now have the stock watchdog SEC on top of things there (fined for taking over) nice huh. I wouldn't want to be in that position either, but Robert Ballard warned any one digging up long time ago. Just a year ago, dissident stock holders sued the company at hand also and things are not getting better, i think that the stock value on the stock market is worthless at the moment. Basicly i am for taking the souveniers out selectively, but by a non-profit organization like government / museum associations like that, never to be sold. |

Yes It should. I think the rising of the titanic would be a disgrace to the people who died upon it plus it is a waste of money what could raising the titanic proof that most dont already know. and the damage the effect of trying to raise it would do to the old ship.
The savaging of old ships is a theft from people no longer round to fight for their rights |

Where the Titanic lays is not only a memory but history. Why on earth would anyone want to disturb such a beautiful thing?
I agree, it should be left in peace. |

I whole heartedly agree that the Titanic should be left in her final resting place.I can't see what objective would be gained by trying to raise her, which i think would be a complete waste of money.
There are plenty of photo's of her and artifacts from her bought to the surface and those still remaing on the ocean floor. What we must remember is it was a tragedy of colosal proportions and as such should not be disturbed. |
