I read in a Titanic book that they don't think there's a Rose, and as far as Jack goes, They found a tombstone with J. Dawson on it, but some research prooved that it was James Dawson. No relation to any Jack Dawson's, if you were wondering.

regardless if jack had survived he would be dead by now and i wouldn't have any fond memory of him as i would have been to young.

its fiction...so regardless if it was derived (however obscurely) from truth (the truth being that there were many young couples on board)

Have you any idea how many newlyweds were on board the vessel? How many young women became windows at the fragile age of 17 or 18? (which was the marrital age at the time). A lot of couples were separated by this tragedy, so I dont believe that Rose and Jack really existing makes much difference..It's still a huge tragedy for so many...
