It does not show a listing for a Witt F. but the U.S. Senate Inquiry http://www.titanicinquiry.org/index.html does list a
#15 Witt, F. St. Michael's House, Southampton. Trimmer of the Engine Department http://www.titanicinquiry.org/USInq/USReport/AmRepCrew15.html This is interesting as the encyclopedia-titanica is thought to be the most accurate list. There can be many reasons but at this time I will research why the lists do not match up. I can see a mistake made by the U.S. Senate's list as a more reasonable answer but I will report back my findings. Has anyone else noticed this discrepancy? Anyone else care to help research this? |

Can someone help with more biographical information about the two Witt men who died in the Titanic. I want to know more about F Witt the Trimmer and more on Henry Dennis (Harry) Witt the fireman. For Harry I need to know more about who his grandfather was- I have read the biographical details on his parents and brothers and sisters. Reason for interest- my grandmother was a Witt before marriage came from Southampton and believed that she was related to one of them. I just don't know which Witt. It would be great to find out.
