For academy awards, it is tied with Return Of The King.

Illiana,
Yes, I agree with you. Titanic did have everything, romance comedy, etc. I love the part where "Old Rose" sees her nude picture and says "I was a dish wasn't I". The movie touched some deep part in all of us. I never get tired of watching it. Betty |

The "Titanic" is the greatest film for me. it has everything a film has to have for me. action, comedy, romance, drama....and a great director... this movie changed my life for ever...like most of us, I was only 15 years old when I saw the movie but it helped me mature and see the important things in our life.
thank u James Cameron. |

I love the movie and try to see each room, stairway and the costumes for the era. It seems that every time I view I also see something new.
I love seeing the ship as it was, the iceberg scene and the sinking. The love story just brings it all together, IMO. I think we all learn something new each time we view it? Besides "Gone with the Wind" I think it is the greatest love story ever. Betty |

I'm afraid the movie wasn't all that impressive to me - they got the ship right, which is what I really wanted to see, and the sinking, but I found the story line a bit far-fetched.

EVERY TIME I see it, I notice something new.
I hadn't seen it in a long time, even though I saw it like 14 times in 1998, so it was an odd experience to see again with friends the other night. Even on a little screen far away with the sound too low, it moved. Those seeing it for the first time, wept. I wept as usual. It has so many elements packed into every second of every scene, that it is like great literature. All these themes tie into each other, and it takes repeated viewings to notice them all. What can I say. It still moves in 2003. Really something. That is lasting art. It's not perfect, but it is amazing filmmaking. Time to see it again a few times. |

I saw it 4 times in the movie theater.......And when I first got the movie.....I watched it every single day for about a month.....I still watch it today........And its still my favorite movie of all time to this day! I just love it to death! But, oh gosh.....Jack was crying when Rose went on that lifeboat by herself when Cal had told him there was no deal to get on a boat........He was crying *sniff* oh my god!
