I saw a documentry the other day it was really interesting it showed the divers going down to the wreck but the thing is they have to spend o think it was 5 hours under water for ONLY 30 mins on the wreck. every extra min spent on the brittanic meant longer spent under water as the divers have to let their bodies gradualy get used to the different conditions a VERY dangerous dive! I would love to see the brittanic but as it seems even the most experienced of divers find it a challenge, I wouldn't dare to imagine myself in that situation now, I never realised how much pressure their was at that debth!

I have realised I'm not brave enough!

The Brits and Greeks are incharge of the wreck, you can get down there if it is for historical or scientific purposes, though am sure a bit of investment to an official will get you there if you really want to see it.

I do believe, and Mark, correct me if Im wrong (Though i know you will anyways, lol), Kea Island was only a short distance, maybe a few miles or so, away. had all the watertight doors been closed and the portholes been shut, there was a very good chance of the skipper getting her beached. However, this was not the case, and the forward motion only made things worse. Plowing forward forced more water into her hull than would have enetered had she sat still, and this made lifeboats more difficult to launch, most of them capsized, and one was sucked into the churning screws. Britannic lies in a shallow 350 feet of water, indicating the the shoreline was not very far away. Today, 350 ft is a moderate dive, and I truly think that diving on a sister of Titanic would be an extraordinary feeling. Being able to physically touch the ship would be exhilerating.
