Ok, I found my great grandmothers maiden name. It was Miss. Katherine Mulroy. If anyone could find her name on a cancelled Titanic ticket, I'd couldn't be happier. I am so interested in the Titanic story, and it would really make my day if I found out a relation was going to sail on the Titanic.
Thanks, Killian, |

Hey, I need to know something too. My great grandmother was a titanic "almost" passenger too. Her name was C/Katherine Welsh/Walsh, and she was Castlebar, Mayo, ireland. Sorry for being mixed up with the surname. I was wondering if anyone could find a booked ticket with her name on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I'm back! |

My Gt Gt Grandfather was a relatively wealthy Textile merchant from Yorkshire, England, and almost sailed on the Titanic.
The story in the family is that he was due to sail on the Titanic for a cruise, but cancelled at the last minute due to coming down with a bad bout of 'flu. This would seem to be supported by evidence from the years either side of 1912 when, in April 1911, he sailed 1st Class on the Mauretania to NY, and in April 1913 he sailed on the Empress of Ireland to Quebec, both times to celebrate his birthday. What I was wondering is if anyone might know whether White Star records might show that he was actually booked to sail on the Titanic, and therefore confirm the story? I'd be grateful for any advice/ help |
