it's true the heart of the ocean is not real....On March 22, 1998 a real version, created by Asprey London was auctioned off for $2.2 million to an unidentified buyer at a charity ball for Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund and Southern California's Aid for AIDS. It has a 170-carat sapphire set in platinum, with 65 30-carat diamonds. The new necklace was loaned to Celine Dion, who wore it during her performance of the movie's theme song at the Academy Awards in 1998.

"The heart of the ocean" is totally made up. The only real diamond that comes close to anything like it is the hope diamond, which was not on the ship.
What treasure is real and was supposed to be on the ship was something called the "rubyat of Ohmar...." or something like that. It was a book of poetry that was encrusted with diamonds and other precious stones. |

The heary of the ocean is real but they didnt use the real one for the movie and today it doesnt belong to anyone so its kinda lost I think

i think what DOT was trying to say was that she knows the heart of the ocean wasn't real...but she loves the necklace she recieved but it came with an extra piece which she sisn't see in the movie but was going to look for it....she didn't mean that she was going to do research on the movie for anyother purpose than for looking for the jewerly...no need to jump all over her....

well i like the movie and i want to know what it means. and who said you can't learn from the movie. the movie is half the reason anyone knows anything about titanic. excuse that last comment.

my heart of the ocean replica came with a brooch its a pink flower i don't know if it relates to rose somehow or if it was just a 2 fer...oh well
