I raised this query on this forum ages ago and it is my personal belief that he was possibly working away from the boat deck for most of the time. Doing what I don't know, perhaps he was trying to sort out problems on the lower decks.

He was the chief officer (died) and he was the one that Thomas Andrews asked where all the passenger are and he said "They're all inside; too damn cold and noisy out here for them"

I've seen him walk into the wheelhouse before the accident, when they are preparing the boats (he talks to Thomas Andrews) and he is the one who shouts "no wil" before mr Murdoch shoots himself. :D

Well I mean he's the chief officer, ranked higher than anyone but Smith. You'd think he'd make an appearance somewhere.
Also it is believed that it was actually Wilde who shot himself and not Murdoch. |
