In one of my books it said: gross tonnage was 46,325; water displacement was 66,000 tons.

Sure thing. The ship weighed around 50,000 tonnes fully loaded and it's sister ships weighed the same. Also incase you want to try and calculate that in some tonnes per 50 feet scale or something it was 882.5 feet long and 90 feet wide. I have many papers and books on this subject.
