I must agree. Mr. Hogue did just as much as any of the crew, yet he has gotten little or no recognition in the books I'd read about Titanic. It wasn't until I read a Wikipedia article that I'd even heard of him.

The first man on the Carpathia to see the Titanic's lifeboats. What does anyone think about that? I think it's nice to know passengers were just as helpful in the rescue as the Carpathia's crew.
