[quote:9b4a5363bd]Although Saalfield survived the sinking of Titanic, traumatised by what had happened he never resumed his business and died 12 years later.
[/quote:9b4a5363bd] Aww, that's sad! |

Yeah I took a trip to London last fall for a week and went to the exhibit at the Science Museum. Went down to Southampton as well for a day..
He might not have moved, he just might have wanted his remains placed in West London due to different reasons, maybe his wife was buried there (if he was married, I don't know much about this particular passenger) or he might have had family there.. Just because he wasn't buried in Manchester doesn't nessicarily mean he moved.. But he might have..who knows.. |

Wonder if his bottles/vials were the ones I saw on exhibit in London last year...they were in a glass case with holes on the side and you could still smell the smell of the purfume... I think one of the smells was Rose..although I don't remember for sure.. Anyways..
Adolphe Saalfeld- First class passenger, Survivor. He died June 5th 1926 and was buried in the Golder's Green Cemtery, West London. |

he was on the Titainc to chase a life-long dreem of selling his perfume
aroung the world . he survived the disaster but his fragrances were claimed by the ocean When the ship went down in 1912-where they lay undiscovered for 88 years. one of the 62 bottles recovered was smashed and experts found that the scent had been preserved . The powerful smell of rose and violet had been copied using a fingerprint of the original chemical composition and visitors to the Edinburgh International Science festival were among the first to smell it again in almost a century . the other bottles were rcoverd in 2000 dus enyone no where he is buried .?Im guesing that its in manchester UK AN that he returned to Manchester ofter the suinking An that he died in 1926. AN That he worked for Sparks,Whit and Co LTD This story was in days manchester evening new ( UK ) It sead alot moor but not wrighting it all what do u all think ples let me know ? |
