meaning that it was people's fault that they sank. thats what my mother keeps saying. it was the people's arrogance that drove them to that and sinking. altho superstitious peopel would say otherwise.

I am really tired of the word unsinkable the titanic was made of steel of course it could sink. The belief that it couldn't was on of its downfalls. They believed so much it its inability to sink that they took chances where normally they would not have like going to fast through an ice field that isnt only wreckless its stupid. To stand in front of people and say god couldn't even sink this ship was stupid. granted it was well built and strong but in no way is a 50,000 + ton ship unsinkable.

The Titanic was the most modern and luxurious liner ever to have set sail. She was "unsinkable".
She had,for those days,a sophisticated communications system, including an electrical relay to the watertight doors. These were part of the Titanic's invincibilty. As history knows, the inthinkable happened.... and the unsinkable sunk. And traditional seafaring instruments like the ships bell, which was rung to sound the alarm when the iceberg was sighted, came into play. After many undersea explorations pf the wreck sight, many artifacts have been bought to the surface.and until then had never been seen before. They provide a remarkable and unique glimpse into the past, reflecting in many cases an age which has dissapeared from view. On looking through these photo's of artifacts bought to the surface and countless photo's of relics on the ocean floor is like opening a time capsule.Revealing to us in this the twenty first century amazing details of life before the Great War. Many of the photo's invoke a feeling of tragedy over the loss of life.Others illustrate a grandiose lifestyle. Looking myself at these photo's," which i frequently do"the one i am always drawn to is a photo of the ships repeater,a direction indicator showing the position of the ships rudder, which was bought to the surface in exactly the same position it was found.....It was pointing straight ahead....straight into disaster. |
