The film is based on the bestselling book "A Night To Remember" by Walter Lord.

I say it was better than 1997 movie. Titanic (1997) showed harly any of the Carpathia and didn't even mention Californian. Other Titanic Movies are:
Atlantic (1929)
The Unsinkable Molly Brown (year unknown)
Titanic (1953)
A night to remember (1958)
S.O.S. Titanic (1979)
Raise the Titanic (1981)
Titanic (1997). There were others too- includind one which starred survivor Dorothy Gibson made in 1912. Hope i have helped. Cheers.

"A Night to Remember" is exceptional for its time. Although it is indeed accurate in most cases it does not show the ship breaking apart which is depicted in the 1997 film. The reason for this being that the ship was not discovered until 1985, long after the production of "A Night to Remember".

IT was not as good as the 1997 1. But the bits with all the ice warnings is alot better then the 1997.I hate the bit about jack and rose .I THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE A MOVIE is about the ship.i think more people would watch it then a love story.Cause Who likes love storys!
