Follow the link below to a site showing 3 pictures of the Thompson Dry Dock and surrounding areas of the Harland & Wolff shipyard.. Click on any one of these pictures and get a 360 degree view of the area (as if you were standing on that spot and turned around.
The first pic places you on the edge of the dock. This is the very dock that was built in Harland & Wolff to hold the Olympic class liners. Imagine Titanic filling this dock and towering high above it. The second shows the interior of the Pump House, (the red brick building on the left of the dock in the first pic). This "pump" was used to fill and empty this dock. The third pic is taken from the top of mast on the building behind the dock(the funny looking double platform thing on top of the building). The ship behind this building is the HMS Caroline, a First World War Light Cruiser. The area above its funnels and to the right of its mast is the area where Titanic, Olympic & Britannic were built. (Note the 2 small cranes, on the right of this area that were used in Titanic's construction. Have fun exploring these views, and ask me about anything in them, as I know the area well.
