Granulated cork was used in Titanic for insulation in the cold storage rooms, Hmmm....Well, I do remember hearing about its refrigeration unit area exploding in the stern when it went under. Aparently it made quite a boom! Forgive me, I cannot remember where I got this information. But maybe it was that explosion that put the cork on the surface? |
