If I remember correctly, Ruth Becker said that her mother was a lttle nervous about the trip and told that to a White Star Official when she was checking in (purser or steward maybe).
And he told her that she did not have to worry because of the ship had watertight compartments and that the ship would stay afloat for a long time or until help arrived (or something like that). |
