I travelled on a trans-atlantic voyage from Southampton to New York aboard The QE2 in December 2002. It was awesome! I only had one spell of seasickness thoughout the whole six day voyage. The best feeling is when you walk around on deck with nothing but ocean 360 degrees around you for as far as the eye can see. It was the best experience of my life! I am planning a crossing on the QM2 in early 2007.

I would love to travel on a cruise ship, but everyone in my family are weary of travelling by ship or boat due to my obsession with the Titanic, it must be so amazing just being out in the middle of the ocean with nothing in sight except sea.

I'd love to travel on the QM2, Someday I'm going to hopefully do that. I think the experience would be well worth it.

want to but can't...
I'm as broke as the ten commendments (Sorry, God, for that remark). If I ever get the money to go, I'd like to go on QM2. That's AFTER I go to the Titanic wreck to pay my respects. So, Titanic is first, and if I've anything left over, QM2 would be second. Now, if I could just gotta win that lottery..... |

I would love to go on a cruise, and after I take a trip with my best friend, I plan to start saving for it...maybe on my honeymoon or something. But someday, hopefully...

Nah...not yet. The biggest ship i've been on was one of the old Milqukee-Ludington Ferries on Lake Michigan, but it wasn't tiny, either...I'd give her length about three quarters that of Carpathia.
And yes, I would generally say that British ships are the nicest to travel on...they have a real tradition of transatlantic transportation...American ships have not that air of tradition about them....if you are ever in Long Beach, CA, you might like to see the original QM as she is moored as a hotel/tourist attraction...they have kept her much as she was, so you can see a real ocean liner towards the end of their heyday. Also, the Celebrity lines has the panelling from the Olympic's a la carte restaurant on their ship the Millenium, out of Miami, I believe. It must be an experience to sit there and wonder who ate in the a la carte restaurant over the years..the Astors, Guggenheim...maybe Capt. Smith..... However I'm owrking on trying to get the money to make the New york-SWouthampton run on the QM2 just once!Quote:
